Remember that Marriage Equality documentary you helped fund last year? Thanks to you, we’ve been able to do many interviews with the people who led Minnesota to marriage equality. Their stories will move you. I’ve included just a small sample here so you can see how things are going.
Video clips
The crew from Blue Moon Productions has done a wonderful job. Without their support, we would not be able to do such an ambitious project on what is a tiny budget for most documentaries.
Your Help Is Needed
We’re looking for great photos and videos to go with our great interviews. Do you have videos or pictures from the campaign trail or election night? How about anything from the rallies, votes, or celebrations at the Capitol? We’re looking for pictures and video of the spectacular moments as well as the mundane details such as setting up signs, making phone calls and handing out stickers.
We’re also still doing interviews. Everyone has talked about how important it was to have conversations. Do you, or somebody you know, have a “conversation” story you’d like to share? Ideally, we want to interview the people who were on both ends of that conversation to give viewers of this documentary real insight into how this process worked. But we’re interested in all “conversation” stories.
We’re also looking for stories from parents and their LGBT children. Did you or someone you know go to bat for their children in this fight?
If you can help us with any of these, please just send me an email at michael.mcintee@theuptake.org
Thanks for your continued support and patience. You’re helping us make a great documentary about a history-changing movement.
