Note from Director/Producer Michael McIntee: Earlier this year I read in the Star Tribune about how Itasca Pride was planning to hold its first ever Pride event in Grand Rapids, MN, but was facing pushback from people who wanted to hold a “straight pride” parade to “protect the children” at the same location on the same day. Despite protests from a dozen or so people, the Itasca Pride event went off as scheduled with about 2,000 people in attendance. Itasca Pride is planning to hold the event next year, and to show my support we’re screening “How Love Won” at 7pm on October 11 at the Grand Rapids Mann Cinema 8.
